As the number of incidences occurring from gender based violence surges upward due to toxic relationship; Cypress Global Health has established a membership programme known as Cypress Global Health Executive Coaching Club that teaches it members mostly women, children, teenagers and youth how to stay out of toxic relationships that leads to violence. Members of Cypress Global Health Executive Coaching Club are empowered globally to become advocates of creating and maintaining healthy relationships at home, with friends and colleagues. Skills such as healthy conflict management, confidence and self-esteem, self-love, building a healthy circle of friends, how to identify toxic friends, how to walk out of toxic relationships unhurt, how to avoid comparison, how to avoid relationship that can lead to an unhealthy marriage, how to embrace constructive criticism in a relationship are some of the skills members are taught to develop. We focus on creating work life balance, building network of healthy friendship, love, respect, integrity and stress reduction. Members are also coached on the following key areas: 1) Non-violent communication 2) Healthy dating and marriage relationship 3) Healthy parent-child relationship 4) Healthy work-place relationship 5) Domestic violence recovery 6) Verbal and emotional abuse recovery 7) Divorce recovery 8)Emotional intelligence and conflict management in relationship 9) Narcissistic abuse recovery 10) Stress management Our coaching services are divided into group coaching (for busy executives, men, women, couples), 1-on-1 coaching. Other benefits that our members enjoy includes couples and family retreats, healthy relationship books, healthy relationship online and in-class courses, seminars, summits, workshops and conferences. Mothers who are stressed are usually unresponsive to their children need. It worthy to note that as a mother you will learn how to address the negative consequences of stress. Stress is one of the factor that constitute Adverse Childhood Experiences(ACEs). ACEs are a number of different experiences including abuse, neglect and household dysfunction that are experienced from infancy through to adolescence. They are caused by poverty, divorce, parental mental health problems, emotional and physical abuse and neglect and household substance abuse which leads to increase risk of chronic disease, mental health problems, addiction, obesity, behaviour problems and suicide in adulthood. Managing stress as a mother will help you to meet the emotional and physical needs of your children. Social support and relationship with others are factors that act as buffers, reducing the overall impact of stress and lowering stress levels. By being in the presence of a group of mothers who offer support you can reduce parental stress and enhance optimal parenting. Belonging to a support group can improve your life as a mother and that of your children. Having access to our community tools, resources and trainings will help to reduce parenting stress and improve your parenting skills. As a member of our community, you will be a part of a social environment that can provide you an opportunity to build a social connection. You will be more responsible to your child’s emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual needs. You will be coached and instructed on ways to reduce your child’s stress. You will be provided with a number of activities in our workshops for mothers that can help you build healthy coping skills. Mfreke Asigbe is an experienced Public Health Specialist with more than 10 years of experience working in the health sector for organisations such as Family Health International FHI360 and Primary Health Care Development Agency. She has worked in the six geopolitical zones of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Nigeria developing monitoring and evaluation tools to match program activities for HIV/AIDS programs. In Cross River State, she was able to work with a team of different health care professionals to bring about awareness on HIV/AIDS prevention and management while implementing care and Anti-retroviral services. By leading and managing her team, they were able to test more than 10,000 people in these states and exceeded their target by 50% in these resource constrained settings. She is also a strong advocate of ending gender-based violence, she has worked as an HIV prevention program manager, counsellor and a case manager. As an HIV prevention program manager, she was able to bring about improve healthcare outcomes by conducting scientific-based sessions with HIV positive individuals through workshops and social marketing activities that included stress management and coping skills development. She also collaborated with case managers to assist clients in identifying resources, including mental health treatment, substance abuse programs, domestic violence services and housing assistance. Working as a counsellor and a case manager, she was able to provide counselling and testing services for her clients and provided training on prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) while ensuring the availability of Anti-retroviral therapy (ART). She also coordinated and provided technical support to different partners and organised individual group skill building opportunities to foster adherence to medications and identify strategies to improve adherence to health routines.
